This is a fab counting book! We're constantly trying to find cute, simple ABC and 123 books. It seems like they all have to tell a lengthy story these days, rather than just showing letters and numbers. But this one delivers!

It has it ALL, in fact!! It's illustrated with adorable plasticine figures and it shows everything - the number, the word for the number, it uses the number in a brief phrase describing the picture AND there are numbered die-cute impressions so kids can point and feel as they practice counting! The illustrations are bright and so much fun - I particularly love the smiley purple octopus and the fairy/castle/dragon scene. The back page shows you how to count up from 1-10 and also down from 10-1. And, as the final neat thing, there's a "Look back and find" page where you can go count different things in the picture than the ones written on the page. For example, the number 7 shows a cloakroom and has "seven bright school bags" but you can also go back and count seven pairs of boots (and actually 7 coats, too).

I'm definitely going to look for more books by this creative pair!
