That's why I don't dress up...

posted Friday, 4 November 2005

Every once in a while, I feel like I should dress more "professionally" for work. We had our teen writing ceremony the other night and Fawn commented that I was looking "dapper" because I was actually wearing a nice shirt and slacks, rather than my usual v-neck t-shirts and cotton pants. But today one of the reasons that I don't dress up (besides being too oddly-shaped to fit into stuff and just not inclined to buy pricey clothes) happened - a little tiny person was toddling around story-snacktime, grabbed my leg for support and got me good with a handful of chewed animal cracker. No big deal, but it was just funny that it happened right after I was feeling guilty for not dressing up.

(My other reason, if anyone ever dares to ask why I don't dress up? As the librarian in charge, I've had to clean up various bodily waste products in and around the library. I really don't want to be wearing heels and a fancy skirt for that.)
