Well, after hardly anything happening for ages, quite a few weird things have happened at the library over the past few days. Hooray, I finally have something to write about!

Yesterday morning a man called up from Big City wanting to know if our local paper had printed his ad. I was confused about which paper it was and told him it hadn't arrived yet (one of the locals arrives on Saturday afternoons). He was very stuttery and strange and kept thanking me and asking if it was okay to call back in the afternoon and going on and on and repeating himself. A while later I realized he probably meant the Friday local paper and told the on-call about it when she arrived, since I'd be having lunch when he called. He did indeed call back and speak to her and was delighted to hear that they'd printed his ad correctly. Its contents? Friendly man in his 50's wants to meet a kind Asian woman, on the big side. He told her he'd had such trouble meeting women and he'd had to put it in the Springertown free paper because he'd tried all the other papers with no success. What a big shocker. He then went on and on about how he realized it wasn't her job to look it up (true enough, although if we have time we don't mind too much) and that Springertown is like "a country town" - everyone's so nice, they wouldn't do that for him in the city, etc etc. Well, good luck to ya, Asian Chubby Chaser.
