...asking me (even fairly politely) to hurry up and log you in with a guest card (which we use when you're from out of town and therefore don't pay taxes here and aren't qualified to be a library member - and therefore we don't have to let you use it at all) is not a good way to guarantee that I'll move speedily. Especially when I wasn't actually moving slowly, I simply had to take a second to retrieve the card from a shelf under the desk. When someone is doing you a favour, it's a good idea not to irritate them. tags: annoyiing_patrons
